Nature and allergies
The Australian Labradoodle is known for its anti-allergenic coat, but that doesn’t mean that all dog allergy sufferers won’t react to this dog. Allergies to dogs manifest differently in each individual – some people may be allergic to saliva, others to urine, hair or other discharge. In my experience, most people with allergies to the Australian Labradoodle do not react. If you have a dog allergy, we strongly recommend that you spend time with an adult Australian Labradoodle to see how your body reacts before deciding to get a puppy. Ideally, you should be able to meet the puppies mother well in advance of bringing the puppy home. If the allergy appears after the puppy arrives at its new home, we recommend bathing the puppy. In many cases this will help and the allergic reactions will subside. Sometimes an allergic reaction can be caused by the puppy coming into contact with another animal during the transfer. If even then the allergy does not go away, we will work with you to find a solution and will be happy to advise you. You should never give a puppy to another family without first consulting the breeder!
Original Australian Labradoodle
If you’re wondering what the difference is between a Labradoodle and an Australian Labradoodle, the answer is fairly simple, but important. The biggest difference lies in pedigree and the specifics of breeding.
While the common Labradoodle is the result of a cross between a Labrador and a Poodle, the Australian Labradoodle has a broader genetic base. In addition to the Labrador and the Poodle, the Cocker Spaniel, the Wheaten Terrier and the Portuguese Water Dog are also part of its pedigree. This broader genetic base is one of the reasons why the Australian Labradoodle has excellent health and a stable temperament.
The Australian Labradoodle was originally bred in Australia to create the ideal allergy assistance dog. As a result, the emphasis is on a high quality, hypoallergenic coat that does not shed, a quality that a conventional labradoodle cannot guarantee.
The Australian Labradoodle is not just a common crossbreed, but a breed with a long history of breeding for health, character traits and specific coat characteristics. This carefully managed lineage ensures that the Australian Labradoodle is a reliable and healthy dog with unique characteristics.
Why the Australian Labradoodle?”

His anti-allergenic coat is a great advantage for allergy sufferers, he doesn’t shed or poo minimally and leaves no unpleasant odours.
